These mantels are SOLID wood, not box beams - with fake looking end caps. We like to say they are elegantly rustic and look wonderful in new settings, not just in rustic lodges.

Kiln dried - all of our beams are kiln dried in a state of the art vacuum kiln; in addition we keep the temps high enough to kill off any bugs. No matter who you purchase from, please, make sure that your wood is kiln dried!

Each piece may contain variations in color, texture, and detail including natural cracks/splits, knots, joint lines, etc that add one-of-a-kind handcrafted character. Please keep in mind that these are solid timbers and not fake box beam creations.

Hang this above your fireplace on new or remodel construction and you will hardly notice anything else.

Installation...

We create a pocket on the back side of the mantel to make installation a breeze. Most mantels of this style leave you to figure out install with brackets or corbels but with ours you don't need to provide anything. We supply a 2x4 that is cut to size for the pocket in the back and screws to attach it to wood studs (if you are screwing it to a masonry wall, you will need to provide them) We also provide easy instructions, however, it is yours or the contractors responsibility to make sure that it goes on securely, we just provide an easy way to make it happen.
