This hand hewn wooden mantel is really unique, no two are alike... Gorgeous! These mantels are solid wood, not box beams with fake looking end caps. We like to say they are elegantly rustic and look wonderful in new settings, not just in rustic lodges.

Kiln dried - all of our beams are kiln dried in a state of the art vacuum kiln; in addition we keep the temps high enough to kill off any bugs. No matter who you purchase from, please, make sure that your wood is kiln dried!

Please note that real beams have “checking” (the long horizontal cracks) that occur in the drying process. Most beams will have some checking but we do our best to pick the best face of the beam and the worst checking we put to the back side.

Hang this above your fireplace on new or remodel construction and you will hardly notice anything else.

Installation...

We router out a pocket on the back side of the mantel to make installation a breeze. Most mantels of this style leave you to figure out install with brackets or corbels but with ours you don't need to provide anything. We supply a 2x4 that is cut to size for the pocket in the back and screws to attach it to wood studs (if you are screwing it to a masonry wall, you will need to provide them) We also provide easy instructions, however, it is yours or the contractors responsibility to make sure that it goes on securely, we just provide an easy way to make it happen.
